Erini comes to reading band. Read all about it here: rocking the bariphonium
Dear former band nerds, aspiring horn players and rockers who wish they could wear a uniform:
Mucca Pazza is hosting a reading band at our rehearsal space on the second Tuesday of every month. Everyone is welcome - beginners, former band nerds and recovering pro’s looking to put the joy back. A reading band is exactly that - we read music just like in band class. We improve our reading, our listening and meet other people who look funny and wear glasses.
Bring your instrument, bring music if you have some. We are reading some of the Mucca Pazza tunes and some good ole traditional brass band music that we downloaded from our pals the Brass Liberation Orchestra. (they kicked our ass in San Francisco this summer).
Just email me, mark.messing@gmail.com and you’ll get directions to our HQ and a reminder email.
Ready?
Ok.
having failed to update you last week, i’m now posting the two most recently videos from the Southwest tour.

After a late show in Houston Friday followed by a 3 hour drive, little sleep, and an early call for Tour de Fat Austin, we conclude our first Southwest tour today in Austin. Playing the Maker Faire today and Emo’s tonight is a fine way to finish. Tomorrow many Muccas will exchange hugs and board planes, while the equipment crew begins the long trek back to Chicago.
We’ve learned a lot and met some beautiful folk. See you back in Chicago!
There are a few very dedicated road warrior Mucca Pazza members that are out helping make this tour a reality right now. In truth, the tour is already well underway.
Princess Tromb-Ela-Bone, Crashtest, Dave The Rock, Jeffrey, and Broste are making their way (tuba, drums, speaker helmuts, and uniforms in tow) down to Arizona. They sent me these grainy photos to post, without any explanation as to what’s going on.
A wonderful photographer (and friend of Mucca) named Dave Golden took some marvelous photos of us performing at the Tour de Fat festival in San Francisco. He has graciously given us permission to show them here. For more of Dave’s work, check out http://dave-golden.com. Thanks Dave.
L.Y.A. is live, courtesy of Mucca Pazza! Let the lovin’ begin.
